Ivy's Lullaby

I've been singing Ivy this lullaby all week (for more news on that week, check out the previous blog), and she's been snuggling sweetly and listening nicely. The tune is "Mockingbird." And, I had extra pictures to share!

You're my baby and I'm your mom.
I'm gonna love you from dusk till dawn.
From dawn to dusk I'll be right here.
I'll be with you everywhere.
You're my baby and I love you.
Daddy loves us and we love him too.
We three will be together always.
When we're together it's all sunny days.
You're my baby and you love me.
We are the girls Mommy and Ivy.
All day long we play and sing.
Together we do most everything.
You're my baby and I'm a baby too.
Grammy and Grampy love me and you.
They think you're a dear little girl.
You're their favorite in the whole, wide world.
You're my baby but you've got others.
You have grandpas and grandmothers.
When Grandpa and Grandma Heuman come to play,
"We love Ivy," is what they say.
You're my baby and you have aunts.
Auntie Heidi brings you fancy elephants.
Auntie Heather has babies of her own.
With such a family you're never alone.
You're my baby and you're Canadienne.
We left behind so many of our friends.
Toby, Bas, Leo, Sophie, and their moms and dads --
When we see them soon, we'll be so glad.
You're my baby and it's you I hear.
I always want to keep you near.
You make so many sweet little sounds.
You're awfully nice to have around.
You're my baby and I see you.
Everyday it's something new.
You look and look with eyes so bright.
You watch me all day and night.
You're my baby and you're so smart.
You have a special place in my heart.
I can't believe how you learn and grow.
There's so much you already know.
You're my baby, now go to sleep.
I'll listen carefully to hear you peep.
When you wake I'll come right in.
Then our fun will begin again.
